Higher yields with ArtemisNatural Coated Urea

• What is Coated (Controlled Release) Urea?

Animals like cattle and sheep convert nitrogen from various feed componentsinto microbial protein with the help of microorganisms in their rumen.

More usable protein means more efficiency in production, which makes using urea as a source of nitrogen a cost-effective way of supportingthe animal body.

However, urea in crude form may lead to dangerous consequences or may prove ineffective in increasing yield.

In order to ensure a steady concentration of nitrogen in the rumen,Artemis Natural Coated Urea is coated usingthe enteric coating method that is widespread in the pharmaceutical industry. This way, nitrogen is slowly released in the cattle’s rumen for a period of 14-16 hours. This period could beadjusted tolast from 6 up to 36 hours according to consumption needs.

Supplying uninterrupted nitrogen over an extended period of time results inoptimizednitrogen levels, which increases the milk yield as well as the protein and fat content of the milk.

Artemis Natural Coated Urea is a specially designed source of nitrogen, which means thateven a small amount would be sufficient.

• Daily usage per head between 100-200 gr.

The nitrogen level in Artemis Natural Coated Urea is 40.5%, which is considerably higher than thatof soybean meal: 8.5%

Besides, all nitrogen in Artemis Natural Coated Ureais degradable and can be reverted in the metabolic system. On the other hand, soybean meal allows only 65% of the nitrogen to be degraded.

Artemis Natural Coated Urea is therefore 7.3 times more efficientcompared to soybean meal.       

Replace 1 kilogram of soybean meal with 140 grams of Artemis Coated Urea.   

Plus,the remaining 860 grams now available in the rationcan be used toward more energy or cellulose, depending on your needs.

Observed production increases

• 6%increase in milk yield (from 32.5 liters to 34.5 liters)*

• 8%increase in milk fat(from 3.71% to 4.01%)*

* Data obtained through scientific study with 40 Holstein cattle around 600 kg each.

• The calculated numbers reflect the difference between alternative rations without and with coated urea for milk Holsteins with an average milk yield of 30 liters.
• Coated urea added to the ration replaces 0,7 kg alfalfa hay, plus 0,7 kg soy meal and 1,0 kg dairy cattle feed. The recent increases in the prices of protein sources have shot up feeding costs, making the use of coated urea a sensible solution.

• How to use
  1. Mix homogeneously into feed.
  2. Consider animal adaptation period (2-4 weeks).
  3. Prefer whole grain or easily soluble energy sources like molasses.
  4. Use with a low protein and high energy feed.
  5. Add up to 1% (DM) of the total ration, 2% of concentrated feeds, and 0.5% of corn silage.
  6. Make sure to provide necessary amount of minerals, especially phosphorus, sulfurand potassium.
• Precautions
• For best results, use with high energy feeds.
• DO NOT reduce protein sources like soybean, canola etc. by more than half.
• Maintain good forage and grain balance in the feed.
• NOT suitable for calves younger than 3 months.
• DO NOT exceed 0.35 grams ofcoated urea per kg of body mass.
• Store the product in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight.
